WSJ

My dad has been sending me Wallstreet Journal articles from the fashion division lately and this one is my favorite. Being an Art History major, we study who influences who, what group they belong too, who are alike... Fashion is very similar. The article had a wonderful chart about how some of the key designers of the moment are related, just like art.
The chart for the development of Abstract Art, also interesting.

COOL RIGHT?

Click Here to see the interactive site, you can see different looks from the designers and how they relate. Literally SO COOL.

Two Wheelin'

Two recent happenings have made me realize my love for bicycles. 1. The warm weather. What sounds better then a day of riding around town with your boo on your bicycle? 2. My recent achilles injury which has made even walking painful, so I've decided to take my Schwin Cruiser my default transportation. Plus, they are totally chic. The Satorialist has an entire section dedicated to Bicycles, Who What Wear featured them on their "Obession du Jour" posts and even high end designers are making their own kind to keep up. Plus I found an entire blog dedicated to chic bicycle riding: Riding Pretty.

Fendi's version. Note: $17,000...

I believe this is a Teen Vogue spread? If not, it should be.

Nouveau

Hi guys. Sorry I've been meaning to post this for a while so it's not as "nouveau" as I would have hoped. But oh well. I wanted to say that my new favorite online shop is the Mikkat Market. The site is like a blog of personal fashion, only you can buy everything that the blogger is wearing.
The best part? It's not even that expensive!
Here are some of my favorite looks.

I bought this white asymmetrical tee and have worn it non stop since. Sorry this pic is so small.... awkward.
Happy online shopping!

Girl Crush: Clemence Posey

Loved Clemence Posey's short but sweet run on Gossip Girl. She was the modest, sweet, French girl that everyone loved, except Blair. Something about her face, how she carried herself, and her effortless style are completely charming.
Wish she was sill on the show! Nonetheless, here are some pictures to further your obsession.

Haters gon' Hate

The other cold wintery day I wore my floppy felt hat to school and got ENDLESS shit.HATERS. this post is for all y'all because they are 70's cool.
I didn't even have to scroll on LOOKBOOK to find more than 4 looks with a floppy hat... That's a sign. Love this trend, even though it's been around for a while.

King of Sex

Tom Ford is quite possibly the coolest man in Fashion. After reading his article in Bazaar this December I became obsessed with him.
A nice excerpt...
Asking Gwyneth Paltrow to bear his children on their first date, which he said was probably true, and feeling up Natalia Vodianova at fittings, which she said is definitely true, though, would top the list. Artist Rachel Feinstein might have the most salacious story of all: "He once put my breast in his mouth. That's the most provocative thing. I remember that," she says, laughing. "I hope he remembers that too."
Also
"I watch straight porn all the time. If I go on my computer, there's a button that can connect me to all the sites I look at most often, and they're all porn—and 1stdibs.com. Porn and antiques!"
As you can see in the pictures below, he is very aware of the female anatomy, despite his gay orientation. He is inspired by the 70's image of women... Disco, Studio 54, and clear sexuality. He helped make Gucci a household name for classic sexy clothing. He's so inspiring! He created a top secret runway show this spring with hand-selected models by Tom himself, including Beyonce. Video of the show is posted at the bottom of this post!

Mourning the loss of high heels... Sort of

So I have to admit, after loving the trends of fall... sherling, head to toe nude, camel coats, clogs, fur, leather and lace... I was extremely excited for Spring 2011. Sadly I am not really a fan whatsoever, except of the Black Swan-ballet type thing that has been circling around.
The worst trend? FLATFORMS. Everyone looks hot in super high, platform heels but instead we have opted to walk on these asian(?) looking contraptions that are not one bit feminine or attractive.
Phillip Lim

What about shoes like these? :(

LIKE THE LOVELY JEFFREY CAMPBELL, WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU?
